New Delhi, February 13

A gunfire was directed at a half-completed house of Inderjit Singh Gosal, said to be aide of slain Hardeep Singh Nijjar, in Brampton. The banned Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) said separatists would hold a rally outside the Indian consulate in Toronto on February 17.

The SFJ said a construction crew found a bullet hole in a window of an unfinished house of Gosal. The Peel Regional police said they were not ruling out more shots having been fired at the house. The police also said it was “too early” to link the shooting to Gosal’s role in Khalistani activities.

“No threat and violence can stop me from advocating for the liberation of Punjab from Indian occupation,” Gosal stated. A similar incident took place on February 1 when the local police briefly arrested two minors for allegedly firing shots at the Surrey residence of Simranjeet Singh, said to be Nijjar’s aide.
