Ousted S Korea Prez resists questioning

Seoul: South Korea’s ousted President Yoon Suk Yeol, who is in detention while on trial and facing various criminal probes, lay on the floor of his cell in his underwear on Friday and refused to leave it for questioning, a spokesperson for a special prosecutor said. Yoon was removed from office in April by the Constitutional Court over his botched attempt last year to declare martial law and is now being investigated by a special team.

18 Cambodian POWs still in Thai hands

Bangkok: Thailand’s army sent home two Cambodian soldiers from a group of 20 on Friday, ahead of a key meeting in Malaysia next week where defence ministers and military commanders will hold talks aimed at maintaining a ceasefire along their disputed border. The rest of the 20 captured on Tuesday remain in Thai hands, and Cambodian officials are demanding their release.
