7 picnic-goers killed in NW Pak gun attack

Peshawar: At least seven members of a family were killed and another injured when unidentified gunmen ambushed a group returning from a picnic in Kohat district of Pakistan’s restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The victims were attacked late on Saturday.

Lanka govt slams oppn’s protest plan

Colombo: Sri Lanka government slammed the opposition’s plan to stage protests in north and east regions on Monday calling it a “political exercise.” Tamil National Alliance had called for protest against the killing of a civilian in a clash with the military.

Kuwait City: Kuwaiti authorities have arrested 67 people accused of producing and distributing locally-made alcoholic drinks that have killed 23 people in recent days. Ther is a ban on domestic production of alcoholic beverages.
