Indonesia earthquake kills 42

A 6.2-magnitude tremor shook Sulawesi in Indonesia, toppling buildings, triggering landslides and killing 42 people.

There are reports of many people trapped in the rubble of collapsed buildings. Over 600 are injured.

Officials are still assessing the full scale of damage. US Geological Survey said tremor’s depth was 18 km. Agencies

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.
