Lord Swraj Paul donates $5 million to alma mater

London: UK-based Indian-origin entrepreneur Lord Swraj Paul has donated $5 million to his alma mater Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Kresge Auditorium, a landmark at the prestigious university that serves as a venue for community and cultural activities. MIT will receive the donation through the Paul family’s charitable trust — the Ambika Paul Foundation. “I have always had great respect for MIT as a world centre of technical excellence,” said Lord Paul. ‘Kapoor Haveli’ in Pak faces demolition threat

Peshawar: The historic ancestral home of late Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor in Pakistan’s Peshawar city is facing demolition threat as the current owner of the house is adamant on building a commercial complex on the site worth crores. In 2018, the Pakistan Government had decided to convert the “Kapoor Haveli” in Qissa Khwani Bazaar in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, into a museum, heeding to a request by late Rishi Kapoor.
