Southeast Asia’s top diplomats held their annual talks through videoconferencing on Wednesday to discuss the immense crisis wrought by Covid and rising tensions in the South China Sea amid the escalating rivalry between Washington and Beijing.

When the territorial conflicts were discussed, “concerns were expressed on the land reclamations, activities and serious incidents in the area,” the ministers said in a draft communique. — AP
