Hungary will start the process to withdraw from the International Criminal Court, an official said on Thursday, just as Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu arrived to red carpet treatment in the country’s capital despite an arrest warrant from the world’s only permanent global tribunal for war crimes and genocide. PM Orbán gave Bibi a welcome with full military honours in Budapest’s Castle District. This is Netanyahu’s second foreign visit since the ICC warrant last November.

Thousands flee as Israel expands ops

Gaza: Hundreds of thousands of fleeing Gazans sought shelter on Thursday in one of the biggest mass displacements of the war, as Israeli forces advanced into the ruins of the city of Rafah, part of a newly announced “security zone” they intend to seize. Israeli airstrikes killed at least 100 Palestinians across the Gaza Strip on Thursday, including at least 27 sheltering at a school in the north. Gazans who had returned to during the truce have now been ordered to flee.
