It’s a big deal in Pakistan if you get married as per your own wishes.
And this time, it’s no ordinary woman, but the Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai, who surprised everyone with her marriage today. And the news can’t keep Pakistanis calm and it has drawn mixed responses from the Internet.
A few went out of the way to dig up an old interview, which she gave to British Vogue in June about her skeptical view on marriage.
In the interview she had said: “I still don’t understand why people have to get married. If you want to have a person in your life, why do you have to sign marriage papers, why can’t it just be a partnership?”
Announcing her wedding to Malik on Twitter, Malala wrote, “Today marks a precious day in my life. Asser and I tied the knot to be partners for life. We celebrated a small nikkah ceremony at home in Birmingham with our families”.
On Twitter, she was trolled over her views in the interview.
Why she did nikkah?? She was agree on partnership… So??
