Trump, Putin stick to their positions on Ukraine in phone call

Russia’s campaign against Ukraine will continue till all the objectives are achieved, President Vladimir Putin said during a phone conversation with his US counterpart Donald Trump on Thursday.

Briefing reporters after the hour-long phone conversation, Kremlin foreign policy aide Yuri Ushakov said Moscow will continue to seek a diplomatic solution to the ongoing conflict but will not leave its root causes unaddressed.

Trump in turn, called on Putin to cease the hostilities as soon as possible.

Russia navy dy chief killed

Major General Mikhail Gudkov, deputy head of the Russian Navy and a former commander of a marine brigade fighting against Ukraine in Kursk, was killed in action in Kursk, depriving Moscow of one of its most senior officers.
