Trump sets Sunday evening deadline for Hamas to agree to Gaza peace deal
In a fiery Truth Social post, the US President accuses Hamas of waging decades of violence in the region
US President Donald Trump on Friday issued a sweeping ultimatum to Hamas, vowing total military destruction unless the group agrees by Sunday evening to what he described as a “last chance” Middle East peace agreement endorsed by Israel, Arab nations and the United States.

On September 29, 2025, Washington unveiled a new peace proposal that sought an immediate cessation of hostilities, full return of hostages, and a pathway to Gaza’s reconstruction under international oversight.
The proposal, termed as ‘US President Donald Trump’s Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict’, is having a 21-point “New Gaza” blueprint, which calls for demilitarisation and governance by a technocratic board. The plan is under scrutiny, but is yet to be accepted by the Hamas.
In a fiery Truth Social post, Trump accused Hamas of waging decades of violence in the region, culminating in the October 7 attack in Israel that killed civilians “babies, women, children, old people, and many young men and women.”
He said more than 25,000 Hamas fighters have already been killed and claimed the rest are “surrounded and militarily trapped,” awaiting his order to “GO.”
At the same time, Trump declared that Hamas fighters would be spared if they accepted the peace pact—a deal he said involves “great, powerful, and very rich nations of the Middle East” and could deliver “peace after 3,000 years”.
“The violence and bloodshed will stop,” Trump wrote, demanding the immediate release of all hostages, living and dead. He set a strict deadline of 6 pm (Washington time) on Sunday for Hamas to accept the terms.
“If this last chance agreement is not reached...all hell, like no one has ever seen before, will break out against Hamas. There will be peace in the Middle East one way or the other,” Trump warned.
Trump also called on civilians in Gaza to move to safer areas, pledging that “all innocent Palestinians” would be “well cared for by those that are waiting to help”.
