US President Donald Trump criticised Time magazine on Tuesday for what he described as an unflattering and bizarre cover photo, even though the accompanying article portrayed him in a relatively positive light.

“Time Magazine wrote a relatively good story about me, but the picture may be the Worst of All Time,” Trump wrote. “They ‘disappeared’ my hair and then had something floating on top of my head that looked like a floating crown, but an extremely small one. Really weird!”

The cover, titled "His Triumph", coincided with Trump's role in brokering a major ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.

The deal, signed in Egypt’s Sharm el-Sheikh, led to the release of 20 Israeli hostages and saw Israel free around 2,000 Palestinian prisoners, along with the return of the remains of approximately 360 Palestinians.

Despite his discontent with the cover photo, Trump acknowledged the article itself was favourable. Still, he expressed frustration over the editorial choice of the image.

“I never liked taking pictures from underneath angles,” he added. “What are they doing, and why?”

This isn’t the first time Trump has sparred with Time. In February, he mocked the publication after it featured tech magnate Elon Musk—then head of the Department of Government Efficiency—sitting at the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office.

“Is Time magazine still in business? I didn’t even know that,” Trump had remarked at the time, though he did praise Musk’s efforts.
