Osama bin Laden financed Nawaz Sharif, says former Pakistani diplomat

Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden had supported and funded ex-PM Nawaz Sharif, a former Pakistani diplomat who also served as a minister in the PML-N supremo’s cabinet has alleged.

“Yes, he (Osama) supported Mian Nawaz Sharif at one time. He used to extend financial assistance,” Pakistan’s former envoy to US Abida Hussain claimed this during an interview. — PTI

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
