A kite festival turned into a nightmare for a three-year-old girl in Taiwan as she was lifted high into the air after getting caught in the strings of a large kite.

Captured on video, the incident occurred in the seaside town of Nanliao near Hsinchu in Japan on Sunday.

The girl got wound in the giant long-tailed kite before being lifted several meters into the air.

Posted on Facebook, the video shows the girl getting twisted several times in the air for about 30 seconds before being caught by a man on the ground.
