A woman, who was away from three months from home, was left shocked when she found out that her home was taken over by potatoes.
The 22-year-old woman, Donna Porée, from Caenin France, had bought a €2.50 (Rs 210) bag of potatoes from a supermarket back in March.
This was when the lockdown was announced in the country. Donna decided to spend the self-isolation time with her boyfriend. She left with the necessary items and just like, everybody else, she didn't care much about the sack of potatoes on the kitchen shelf.
However, once she returned home after three months, she found out that her home didn't belong to her anymore.
Potatoes had taken over it.
"As I opened the front door, I noticed a strange shape at the back of the kitchen. As the light was off and shutters down, I didn't realise it was the potatoes. It was only after opening the shutters that I took note of this extraordinary sight," Donna was quoted as saying by LADbible.
The potatoes didn't like being left alone for months, so they decided to sprout shoots. Several long pink tentacles broke out of the sack and shot off to the walls.
They even broke through the joints of the furniture.
"I was terrified at first, but after realising what it was I laughed a lot and shared a video of the plant on Snapchat. My friends couldn't stop laughing. They found the whole situation unbelievable," she said.
She also shared the photos on Twitter and wrote, "After 3 months of absence my potatoes decided to push without limit until making holes in the joints."
