Can you hug a reptile? That too an alligator! While most of us would run away at the thought of it, the zookeeper at the Reptile Zoo in California is happy about it. A video of the caretaker hugging a huge alligator has gone viral. Introducing her reptile friend while in a tight hug from the giant being, she tells us that his name is Darth Gator and they have been friends for his entire lifespan. Lying beneath the gator, she says, “I’ve got photos with him from his whole lifespan but he got me this time. I tried to hold him, but he said nope.”

The twist comes right after this when the Darth crawls away and the woman finds out he has urinated. Laughing at it she reacts, “Oh, dear lord! What happened.”

The clip has been shared on the Instagram page of Reptile Zoo, which writes, “Reptile Zoo’s Instagram post said, “Sometimes I hug Darth Gator… he is our alligator ambassador... did you know that Darth is an invasive species in California where the Zoo is which is why they’re illegal as pets.”
