PM: Terror forces may disrupt polls in J&K
New Delhi, November 23
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Saturday warned that terrorist groups may try to disrupt the forthcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir and asked the security forces to remain alert.

Former chief of J-K exam panel held for sale of MBBS entrance papers
Srinagar, November 23
Mushtaq Peer, former Chairman of the Board of Professional Entrance Examinations
(BOPEE), was arrested by the Jammu and Kashmir Police�s Crime Branch today. He has been charged with illegal sale of Common Entrance Test
(CET) papers.

Addl Secy booked on rape charge
Dehradun, November 23
JP Joshi, the Additional Secretary posted in the Uttarakhand Home
Department, has been booked on rape charge. He has been accused of
raping a woman on the pretext of giving her a job. The
26-year-old victim, who hails from Uttarakhand, had lodged a zero-FIR at
Pandav Nagar police station in east Delhi. Joshi has filed a
counter FIR against the woman in Dehradun for allegedly maligning his
reputation.

Islamabad, November 23
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif today pitched for the resumption of
India-Pakistan dialogue to
settle all outstanding issues, including Kashmir, but acknowledged that
a breakthrough was likely only after the Indian general elections next
year.Sharif said it was his PML-N party�s �principled stand� to
have better ties with India and the recent firing and tensions on the
Line of Control (LoC) were not in the interest of both sides.
