An 18-year-old boy has been arrested for allegedly murdering a man in south-west Delhi’s Kapasehra area, said the police today.
The accused has been identified as Ankit Kumar Singh alias Gandhi. With his arrest, a blind murder case registered at the Kapasehra police station on March 27 and two robbery cases have been solved.
On March 26, the police was informed about a gunshot at a person at Kapashera. The police reached the spot in front of a house at Kapashera village and found blood on the road. The police learnt that the injured, Dheeraj Yadav alias Bholu, was taken to Deepan Hospital and then shifted to the Columbia Asia Hospital in Gurgaon. On reaching hospital, the injured was declared brought dead.
The police said according to the eye witness Deepak Lamba, on March 26 he with his friends, including Dheeraj, gathered to smoke at his old house at Kapashera village. Around 7:00 pm, he and Dheeraj came towards Kapashera police station on Dheeraj’s scooty.
“They returned towards Kapashera village and around 8:15 pm they reached in front of house number 250/251 in Kapashera village. Three persons on a white scooty followed them and one of them opened fire and shot Dheeraj on his face. Dheeraj was riding the scooty,” said RA Sanjeev, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South West District).
A team conducted raid at Faridabad and arrested Ankit. During sustained interrogation, the accused confessed to have committed the crime and two more robbery cases.
“Ankit disclosed that he and his associates Roshan and Pinku, allegedly murdered Dheeraj at the instructions of Krishan, who is languishing in Rohini jail in a murder and attempt to murder case. They killed Dheeraj in order to take avenge for his brother’s death, who was murdered by his aunt’s son,” said the Deputy Commissioner.
