In the sequential incidents of braid cutting after Kanganhedi Village and Palam, another incident has been reported form Ranhaula Village on Tuesday night.
All together, in the past few days 11 such incidents of braid cutting from Outer and South Delhi have come to light.
According to a senior police officer, “We received information that a woman, Omwati (45), a resident of Tilangpur Kotla, went to the washroom in the night and after 30 seconds family members heard her screaming. When they opened the door of the washroom, they found her lying on the floor and her braid was chopped off.”
“Omwati lives with her husband and children and the house was fully locked at the time of the incident. Since the main door was closed, there was no possibility of any outsider coming inside,” added the officer.
Therefore, this matter is becoming further complex. Now the police have decided to send the cut hair to the forensic lab.
Yesterday the police did the counselling of four women whose braids were cut. According to sources, psychiatrists say that their statements making the matter more complex. One of the women said her braid was cut but she didn’t say anything about who did this and how it was cut. The woman said after having severe pain in the head, she fainted and when came into consciousness she got to know that her braid had been cut.
A senior police officer said, “We have investigated the matter from all the angles, but we are still clueless."
Now, the police are taking the help of doctors as well. They are waiting for the forensic lab report so that it could be found out in which situation and how the braids were being cut.
