A multi-agency mock drill, comprising 300 security personnel, was today conducted at a major Delhi Metro station here to effectively combat a chemical attack-like scenario.

As many as 10 agencies, led by paramilitary CISF, undertook a 1.5 hour-long operation at the Jawaharlal Nehru Station here.

The drill was reviewed by Central Industrial Security Force chief O P Singh along with senior officials from the Delhi Metro security unit of the force.

While 180 CISF personnel were roped in for the task, 120 men and women from other agencies like the counter-terror force NSG, Delhi Police, NDRF, Fire service, DMRC, disaster management and Intelligence Bureau also participated.

Officials said elaborate arrangements were made while multiple facilities were activated to conduct the drill, which enacted a scenario where a chemical attack, perpetrated by a terrorist-like element, was unleashed on the rapid transport network of the national capital region.
