New Delhi, December 2
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today sought approval from Lt Governor Anil Baijal on the Delhi Government’s move to cancel the recently conducted Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) examination whose question papers were allegedly leaked.
The DSSSB examination was held on October 29 for the appointment of primary teachers in municipal schools.
“Papers leaked in a DSSSB exam last month. Myself n DCM ordered cancellation of exam. File sent to LG. I urged Hon'ble LG yesterday to approve our decision (sic),” Kejriwal tweeted.
“Almost 70,000 youth affected. We also need to put in place a system to stop such incidents in future,” he said.
Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had last month sought the cancellation of the examination and demanded that the officers involved be suspended to avoid any tampering with evidence.
Sisodia termed the matter as a serious case of corruption in the teachers’ recruitment process pointing out that there have been several complaints of malpractices, including examination papers being leaked and questions being set from a particular guidebook, among others.
