The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) has written to Police Commissioner B S Bassi seeking a detailed report on the findings of the Delhi Police regarding the mapping of dark spots in the city.
DCW chairperson Swati Maliwal has sought the details of the roads, streets and localities where there are no or non-functional streetlights.
“The commission has been informed about the presence of dark spots in Delhi. It has also been brought to our notice that the Delhi Police has conducted mapping of the dark spots in Delhi. Therefore, you are requested to provide the findings of the mapping exercise for the perusal of the commission,” said the letter by DCW chief.
The Delhi Police had mapped 255 dark and vulnerable transit routes in the city in February, following a directive from the Home Ministry.
