Delhi University launched its Post Graduate (PG) admission portal at 6 pm on Thursday and within two hours of the registration being opened, it crossed the mark of 1,500 with admission-seekers from six different states and in more than 17 courses.
“The launch went on smoothly and the initial response was overwhelming. In the first hour itself, around 1,000 admission seekers from across the country had registered,” said a university official.
DU has invited online applications for registration for admission to all PG programmes in 2016-17 session and the payment of registration fees is also being made online.
This year, for the first time, the university has decided to conduct entrance examinations for admission to all the PG courses at six centres across the country--Bengaluru, Nagpur, Delhi Jammu, Varanasi and Kolkata. Until last year,
the exams were only conducted in Delhi and the outstation students had to come to the national Capital to appear for the exam.
The entrance examinations will be for two hours only in the multiple choice question (MCQ) format for a majority of the programmes offered by the university doing away with subjective question papers except for the foreign language courses.
