New Delhi, November 21
There are reasons to cheer for Delhi University students who will be able to avail discounts on well-known national and international brands, study material, food and apparels by displaying a special student I-card provided to them anywhere in the world.
The I-card called the International Student Identity Card (ISIC), endorsed by UNESCO was launched here today and Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) will make the card available to the varsity students.
For this, DUSU will organise camps in various colleges starting next few days and a nominal fee of Rs 250 will be charged from the students for issuance of cards, said a DUSU member.
The ISIC card, which is currently being used by students in around 130 countries, will serve the purpose of both an identity card for a DU student as well as a discount card.
