Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot on Thursday flagged off third electric bus that will ply on route No. 534 Anand Vihar ISBT to Mehrauli in the city.
This is the third trial run as a part of the government's pollution-control plan to induct 1,000 electric buses on the city roads.
They are supposed to be zero emission vehicles with 30 per cent reduction in bus interior noise level.
For the project, the AAP government has begun a series of trial run of the buses powered by electricity manufactured by different companies.
This time it is Olectra BYD going by whose claims after overnight charging the 12 m low-floor bus can run for 250 km the next day, said Gahlot.
The other two electric buses of PMI-Foton and JBM-Solaris are already on trial run for the last month.
On the basis of their performance the government would take a decision on specifications of the buses as well the charging capacity for which stations will be installed across the city.
