New Delhi, October 4
A programme for international academicians to teach at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) is being planned, said Textile Minister Smriti Irani while addressing students and faculty at the convocation of NIFT Delhi today.
The initiative will not involve any extra cost to NIFT or the student and will be developed on the lines of Global Initiative of Academic Networks (GIAN), a programme of Irani’s earlier portfolio -- the HRD ministry.
Irani also highlighted the achievement of two differently abled students – a girl with hearing impairment and a boy with locomotor disability who commuted by metro.
Over 300 graduating students received their degrees, including four who received their doctoral degree, 92 postgraduates and 229 undergraduates.
