Govt to build Rs 122-cr Najafgarh sports complex

New Delhi, December 11

Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Manish Sisodia today approved the proposal of setting up a sports complex at Najafgarh in outer Delhi announcing a target of 18 months for its completion.

The complex at an estimated cost of Rs 122 crore will involve putting in place international-level facilities for athletics, tennis, basketball and swimming within six months in the first phase.

In the second phase, a sports academy and residential facilities will be set up. The target of completing the sports complex is within 18 months.

Spread over 18.20 acres, the complex is being developed at Kair village in Najafgarh and will be equipped with modern facilities for cricket, football, basketball, athletics, tennis and swimming.
