New Delhi, May 5
Sudhir Yadav, the 1985 batch IPS officer of the Delhi police, was today appointed as the new Director General (DG) of Tihar.
An order issued by the Lt Governor announced Yadav's appointment as the next DG of Tihar. Earlier, he served as Special Commissioner of the Delhi police.
Yadav had earlier served as DGP of Andaman and Nicobar Islands in 2013. After joining police service as an IPS officer in 1985 he went on to serve on various important posts of Delhi police.
Earlier, the government had appointed JK Sharma as new DG of Tihar on April 19, but the order was nullified as the government had not sought prior approval of Lt Governor Najeeb Jung before the appointment. — PTI
