With the arrest of four traffickers including one lady, three kidnapped minor girls have been rescued from their possession, police said.
On February 2, a complaint was received at Geeta Colony police station regarding missing and kidnapping of a minor girl aged 14 years.
An FIR was registered and efforts were made to trace the victim, said police.
On February 18, the kidnapped girl has been recovered from village – Palla (Dadri), district – Gautam Budh Nagar, (UP). During investigation, she was produced before the Child Welfare Commission and her statement was recorded. It was found that she was sold for Rs 4 lakh to Neeraj (32) for marriage, police said.
During the investigation, accused Neeraj was arrested. At the instance of Neeraj, further accused persons Anuj (31) – resident of Dasna, Ghaziabad, his wife (25) and Babloo (31), resident of Baghpat (UP) have also been arrested, they said.
During the arrests of Anuj and his wife, two other minor girls were also rescued from their house, said DCP Nupur Prasad (Shahdara).
The modus operandi of the gang while looking for the girls was one person used to search for the innocent victim girls of minor age at the Railway Stations and Bus Terminals of Delhi and NCR. After kidnapping the minors, they took the victims to Anuj's house where the victims were kept. After that, they tried to sell off them to perspective buyers, DCP said.
It came to notice during the investigation that there are four more such victims. In this regard, a team has been constituted to rescue them and to arrest more accused, which is on progress, added the DCP.
