The Sikh Cell of the Delhi BJP had last month lodged a complaint against Anushka for allegedly hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus and Sikh community by depicting them in bad light in the web series ‘Paatal Lok’ produced by her.

In one such scene, a Sikh man is shown raping a woman, a baptised Sikh is witnessing it…a pandit is shown cooking a non-vegetarian meal in a temple.

Manjit Singh Rai, chairman of the National Minorities Commission, said: “As per the complaint received, I have forwarded it to the Commissioner of Police to understand the issue in detail.”

Earlier, Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee president Manjinder Singh Sirsa had also raised an objection at the web series and asked online video promoter Amazon Prime to immediately withdraw a part of ‘Paatal Lok’ series depicting Sikhs in bad light.

Matta said, “The National Minorities Commission has responded to my complaint. I am sure that the police will submit their report.”
