Diljit Dosanjh salutes Rajvir Jawanda’s character as hit Punjabi singer fights for life after accident

Diljit says please keep him in your prayers and praises his character, highlighting how Rajvir has remained free of controversies and earned admiration through his performances and humility

The Punjabi entertainment industry has united in support of popular Punjabi singer and actor Rajvir Jawanda with several noted artistes visiting him at the hospital and urging fans to pray for his recovery.

Jawanda has been hospitalised and is in critical condition following a road accident in Himachal Pradesh’s Solan district on Saturday.

The 35-year-old artiste was travelling to Shimla on a motorcycle when he reportedly lost control in the Baddi area, according to police.

He was rushed to Fortis Hospital in Mohali, Punjab, where he remains in an “extremely critical” state.

Hospital officials reported that Jawanda sustained severe head and spinal injuries and had to be placed on ventilator support. He also suffered a cardiac arrest before being transferred to Fortis, reports PTI.

Singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh posted on Instagram, writing, “Praying for @rajvirjawandaofficial Veera. Just heard about the accident news.”

During his show in Hong Kong he said: "Please keep him in your prayers. Prayers have great power,” Diljit told the crowd, his voice heavy with emotion. “He should recover soon. He should return to us back on stage where he belongs. Rajveer Veera is an incredibly gifted singer.” Diljit went on to praise Rajveer’s character, highlighting how the young artist has remained free of controversies and earned admiration through his performances and humility.

“When you pray for someone with a true heart, those prayers are always answered,” he added. The heartfelt moment from the concert is now going viral across social media.

Best known for his hit track ‘Kali Jawande Di’, Jawanda hails from village Pona in Ludhiana’s Jagraon and has a significant fan following on social media, with 2.5 million followers on Instagram and 935,000 subscribers on YouTube.

A day before his accident, on Friday, Rajvir had posted a video on Instagram promoting his new song. Following the unfortunate mishap, fellow singers Kulwinder Billa and Kanwar Grewal visited him at the hospital.

Gurdas Mann and Babbu Mann also issued heartfelt appeals for prayers. Singer Surjit Bhullar and actor-singer Ranjit Bawa, who visited the hospital, said fans across the Punjabi community worldwide are holding prayers for Jawanda’s swift recovery.

Actor and AAP leader Sonia Mann also visited the hospital and called on the public to refrain from circulating unverified news about his health.

Fans have flooded social media platforms with messages, praying for his recovery. He has many fans who religiously follow him on Instagram and YouTube. On Instagram, he has 2.5 million followers but isn't following anyone. He has 935K subscribers on YouTube.

Rajvir Jawanda has made a name for himself with hit songs like ‘Tu Dis Penda’, ‘Khush Reha Kar’, ‘Sardari’, ‘Surname’, ‘Afreen’, ‘Landlord’, ‘Down to Earth’, and ‘Kangani’. He has also acted in several Punjabi films including “Subedar Joginder Singh” (2018), “Jind Jaan” (2019), and “Mindo Taseeldarni” (2019).

A day before the accident, he had shared a video on Instagram promoting his latest song release.
