Lakhimpur Kheri killings: Remove Ajay Mishra Teni from Cabinet, demands SKM after SIT findings

The Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) today took cognisance of the SIT’s investigation in the Lakhimpur Kheri incident where it has made grave indictments against the 13 accused in the case, including Ashish Mishra Teni, the son of incumbent Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Ajay Mishra Teni.

In its press statement, the SKM said in its submission to the Judicial Magistrate, the SIT has affirmed that, “So far, it has been proved from the analysis and collected evidence that the accused did not commit the criminal act out of negligence and disregard, but intentionally, with the motive of killing the farmers according to a pre-planned strategy due to which five people have died.”

The statement further said the SKM reiterates its demand for Ajay Mishra’s dismissal and arrest.

The SKM added that the SIT has recommended removal of existing IPC Sections 279 (negligent driving), 338 (causing grievous hurt) and 304A (culpable homicide not amounting to murder). “Instead, it has recommended imposition of Sections 307 (attempt to murder), 326 (causing hurt with dangerous weapon), 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) and Section 3/25/30 Arms Act, suggesting use of fire arms, on the 13 accused.”
