Shimla, July 3
With 19 fresh cases, the Covid-19 tally in the state today mounted to 1,033.
Of these, 339 are active cases.A total of 85,116 persons have been tested for the infection. As many as 671 have recovered.
A Nalagarh-based industrial unit, Sara Textile, was sealed today after a 33-year-old man hailing from Jharkhand, who was working in the weaving section of the factory and staying in its housing colony, tested positive for Covid-19.
The tally of positive cases has reached 111 in Solan district.
Solan Medical Officer Dr NK Gupta said the man had come from Jharkhand in February and since then, had been staying in the company’s housing colony.
He was tested after he complained of fever and has now been shifted to the community health centre in Nalagarh.
Health officials are yet to establish the source of infection. His contact mapping is underway. There are about 1,000 workers in the unit and about 50 to 60 reside in the housing colony.
There are 48 active cases in Solan district now. As many as 59 have been cured and four have migrated out.
3 infected in Hamirpur
Hamirpur: Three persons tested positive for coronavirus in the district on Friday.
They include a 52-year-old woman from Koti Tal village in Bhoranj subdivision who had returned from Pune on June 21 and was in home quarantine, a two-year-old from
Lagmanvi village who had returned from Delhi and a 10-year-old boy from Pansai village who had returned from Ghaziabad.
With these, the total number of cases in the district has surged to 256 with 79 active cases.
As many as 175 persons have been cured and two deaths were reported due to the virus in the district.
Dr Archana Soni, Chief Medical Officer, said all persons who were tested positive for coronavirus were shifted to the dedicated Covid care centre at the NIT, Hamirpur.
