Jammu, July 19
Eight deaths, seven from Kashmir Valley and one from the Jammu province, were reported during the past 24 hours in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), taking the coronavirus toll to 244 in the Union Territory (UT).
J&K recorded single-day highest of 701 cases during the past 24 hours.
As per the official bulletin issued on Sunday evening, 701 new cases were reported, 100 from the Jammu division and 601 from the Kashmir division. For the first time, J&K recorded over 700 positive cases in a day.
A total of 646 coronavirus patients recovered and were discharged from various hospitals, 27 from the Jammu division and 619 from Kashmir Valley.
With 701 fresh cases, the Covid count in J&K reached 13,899.

Out of the 13,899 positive cases, 5,844 were active positive, 7,811 recoveries and 244 deaths, 19 in the
Jammu division and 225 in Kashmir.
The official bulletin further said that out of the 50,7678 test results available, 49,3779 samples had tested negative till July 19. Of the total 13,889 positive cases in J&K, 3,282 were reported as
travellers, while 10,617 were others.
The highest-ever 290 positive cases were reported from Srinagar district, followed by 84 in Kupwara. Jammu and Rajouri district in the Jammu division recorded 40 cases each on Sunday.
