The report ruled out that he was tortured but said his injuries were antemortem.

Responding to the development, Bhullar’s father, Bhupinder Singh, agreed to cremate his son's body alleged that the report was prepared by PGIMER under pressure from the police.

The gangster was killed in an encounter with West Bengal police on June 9. His family alleged the encounter was "stage-managed". They contended there were injuries other than gunshot wounds on the body.

The family had refused to cremate the body till a fresh post-mortem was conducted. The Punjab and Haryana High Court had directed the Punjab government to ensure a second post-mortem.
