Why delay in scrapping of power purchase agreements, asks AAP
Chandigarh, July 29
A day after Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh wrote to the PSPCL Managing Director, asking him to review or cancel the “faulty” power purchase agreements (PPAs), the Aam Aadmi Party today questioned the Congress government over delay in initiating action during the past four and a half years.

This game of letters is another ploy by the Congress government to waste time.

Ex- mayor joins party
Former Hoshiarpur mayor and former MP Kamal Chaudhary’s cousin Babbi Chaudhary on Thursday joined the AAP along with hundreds of his associates. They joined the party in the presence of Leader of Opposition Harpal Singh Cheema.
Promising party’s support on the issue, Leader of Opposition Harpal Singh Cheema said had the CM been really serious on the issue, he would have immediately cancelled the PPAs — passed by the SAD-BJP government — in the Cabinet meeting and then through the Assembly session.
Addressing a press conference, Cheema said: “This game of letters is another ploy by the Congress government to waste time.” He asked the CM to explain to the public why he had not convened a Cabinet meeting for the past 41 days. “Never has a Cabinet meeting been delayed by so many days,” he added.
Demanding convening the Assembly session, Cheema asked the CM to explain the status of the white paper on the PPAs that was floated in the House. — TNS
