With Navjot Singh Sidhu’s resignation as the chief of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee plunging the party into a fresh crisis just months ahead of the assembly elections in the state, Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi said they will sit and talk to Sidhu.

“We will sit and talk to Sidhu. He is the party president. It will be settled if he is upset,” Channi said.

Even as Sidhu’s resignation, announced on his Twitter handle went viral on social media, Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi in a press conference said he was unaware about it.

Sidhu had announced his resignation a short while before Channi’s press conference. Channi said he can comment only after talking to Sidhu, whom he said was very much state party president.
