Baldev Ram was sentenced to life imprisonment by District and Sessions Judge Kanchan Mahi for murdering his wife, Prakasho Devi, in September 2022. The murder occurred in a sugarcane field, and the accused used a sickle. The court also imposed a Rs 20,000 fine.
Farmers in Yamunanagar, facing fertilizer shortages, planned a protest.
