CBI to probe VVIP copter deal
Defence Ministry orders inquiry after CEO of Italian helicopter maker held on graft charges
New Delhi, February 12
The arrest of the Chief Executive Officer of aerospace giant Finmeccanica in Italy on graft charges today prompted the Defence Minister AK Antony to order a CBI probe into Rs 3,500-crore helicopter deal with the manufacturer.

Almost four months after two Class VI students of Shimla’s Convent of Jesus and Mary died unnaturally after suffering corporal punishment at the hands of their class teacher, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights has directed the Himachal Pradesh government to transfer the case to the crime branch and file a chargesheet in 30 days.

No maintenance to wife living separately by mutual consent: HC
Chandigarh, February 12
The Punjab and Haryana High Court has ruled that a wife residing separately by mutual consent is not entitled to maintenance. Justice Paramjeet Singh has also ruled that a wife is not entitled to maintenance when the couple is residing separately after divorce by mutual consent, and has accepted lump sum amount of maintenance as a full and final settlement.
