Book Title:

In your web series Hello Mini, you’ve kissed a girl. Were you comfortable performing the scene?

Yes, I had a scene of kissing a female co-actor. Even though we didn’t play bisexual or lesbian characters in the show, it was kind of the requirement of the script to establish certain characteristics of our characters. I was way more comfortable doing it with a female than I’ve ever been with an opposite-sex actor. It’s all in the mind, how you take it.

Many people are homophobic. What’s your view?

Homophobia is a word I still don’t understand. I mean as human beings, each of us have our own physical orientation. It is an individual’s call to choose a same-sex partner and no one should have the right or authority to judge anyone based on that.

Do you think such web series can change people’s mindset?

Absolutely. And not only series but movies like Shubh Mangal Zyada Savdhan have shown that people have become much more accepting and open-minded to the idea of same-sex marriage.

What’s your take on June being celebrated as Pride Month?

It’s amazing how a whole month is dedicated to it. The society has become much more accepting and it’s nice to see how many people are now able to come out and accept their orientation without any fear of judgment.

The LGBTQ+ community is all about being confident in your skin, embracing yourself. What are your views about it?

As humans, we should always be confident and accept ourselves for who we are regardless of gender, caste, colour, or sexual orientation. Only then can we grow as a race!
