Ambala, October 13

The police have registered a case against an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) for allegedly threatening a sub-inspector (SI) and deterring public servant from discharging his duty.

In his complaint to the cops at the Ambala City police station, Mohan Lal, SI, Economic Offense Wing, Panchkula, said a case was registered under Sections 406, 420, 467, 468, 471, 120 B, and 201 of the IPC at the Mahesh Nagar police station against Rajbir, Rahul, Gorav, and Rajiv.

They were arrested and produced before the court of Neha Yadav, Judicial Magistrate First Class, on May 27. When Mohan Lal was returning from the court, ASI Rajesh Kumar, brother of accused Rajbir, who is posted at the detective staff, Yamunanagar, threatened him to implicate in a false case.

He alleged that on May 30, a political person, Mukesh, reached Panchkula with Rajesh and said you and your son both are in government jobs and government officials are nothing in front of politicians. Mukesh asked the complainant to either carry out the investigation as per his directions else he would kill his son by harassing him. Meanwhile, Rajesh kept supporting Mukesh. Next day, Rajesh allegedly again reached there, along with some more people, and said he had done wrong by arresting his brother.

On the complaint of the SI, a case has been registered against ASI Rajesh under Sections 186, 353, 385, 120-B and 506 of the IPC.

The police said the case had been registered and further investigation was on.
