90 officers inducted into ITBP

MUSSOORIE: As many as 90 subordinate officers joined the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) in the 28th passing-out parade and attestation ceremony held at the ITBP Grounds here today.

Mussoorie, February 11

As many as 90 subordinate officers joined the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) in the 28th passing-out parade and attestation ceremony held at the ITBP Grounds here today.

Nagendar Singh, Director of the ITBP Academy, was the chief guest on the occasion. He congratulated the newly inducted officers and wished them a bright career in the force. The new officers should serve with utmost responsibility and bring laurels to the ITBP and the country. ITBP was one of the most outstanding forces in the world that was serving in extreme geographical conditions with utmost integrity and honesty, he said.

The director appealed to the jawans to take inspiration from Swami Vivekananda and Subash Chandra Bose. The training imparted in the academy would succeed only when the jawans would incur lesser casualties during any operation, he added.

The chief guest gave away citations and awards to officers who excelled during the training period.

Sub-Inspector Rakesh Chandra Singh was presented the all-rounder trophy, for excelling in all the activities, during the training period.

Sub-Inspector Yangzor was adjudged best for exemplary character during training while Manish was adjudged the best sports trainee.

Out of the 90 subordinate officers inducted in the ITBP today, seven were from Bihar, 21 from Haryana, three from Jammu and Kashmir, four from Rajasthan, 21 Uttar Pradesh, 15 from Uttarakhand, three from Himanchal, one from Maharashtra, one from Chattisgarh, two from Chandigarh, one from Andhra Pradesh, six from Manipur, one from Nagaland, one from Odisha and three from Delhi.

Commandant, Administration, Manish Kumar presented the vote of thanks in the end.

The ceremony concluded with a thrilling karate display by the jawans and piping ceremony.
