Woman, lover held for killing mother-in-law

REWARI: The district police on Monday arrested three persons for murdering a 70-year-old woman.



Rewari, June 18

The district police on Monday arrested three persons for murdering a 70-year-old woman. Those arrested included the deceased’s daughter-in-law.

Gyana Devi was found strangulated at her house at Kanwali village in the district on June 15. The accused have been identified as Laxman and Madan Lal, both residents of Dhaaruhera town, and Savita, a resident of Kanwali village.

SP Rajesh Duggal said, “The murder was a consequence of an illicit relationship between Savita and Laxman. During interrogation, Laxman revealed that they wanted to marry each other but it was not possible till Gyana Devi was alive. So, they hatched a conspiracy and murdered her.” — TNS
