Govt school headmaster booked for sexual harassment

RAJOURI: The women cell of the Rajouri police station has booked the headmaster of a local Government Middle School for sexually harassing a woman teacher.

The women cell of the Rajouri police station has booked the headmaster of a local Government Middle School for sexually harassing a woman teacher.

On Wednesday, the victim gave a written complaint to the police following which the accused was booked under Section 354A of the RPC.

Sub-Inspector Sushma Kumari has been appointed as the Investigation Officer.

According to the FIR, the teacher and the headmaster, M Ahmed, are posted at Government Middle School in Tanooni village under the Rajouri education zone. The victim is a resident of Rajouri town while the headmaster belongs to Badhoon village.

When contacted, Chief Education Officer A Rather said a copy of the FIR had been received by his office on Thursday. “A three-member panel headed by senior principal Rajesh Gupta and assisted by another principal Salha Mohammad and Rajouri Zonal Education Officer Mohammad Rashid has been formed and directed to submit a report within three days.”

“In case the police arrest the headmaster before the panel report, he will immediately be placed under suspension. However, a departmental action will be initiated against him only after receiving the report and consulting the higher authorities.” he said.
