Ludhiana, July 25
Marking the centenary year of establishment the Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College (GGNKC) on Wednesday stepped towards achieving a new level of education. The college received a grant from the UGC to commence eight new courses in commerce, management and computer science under the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF).
Two schemes have been obtained, including community college and vocational courses. Under community college four courses on hardware and network maintenance technology, information and web technology, accounting and finance and tourism management are offered.
Under vocational degree programme four courses on web technology and multimedia, e-commerce and digital marketing, banking and finance services and retail management are offered.
Dr SP Singh, honorary general secretary, GKEC and former vice- chancellor, GNDU emphasised on importance of running skill based courses parallel to regular courses. In today’s scenario, skill based courses in commerce and IT equip students with abilities needed forindustrial advancement.
