PANCHKULA:Chandigarh’s Mili Verma drubbed Khushi Boora of Haryana in the third round of the girls’ U-19 qualifiers on the second day of Smt Krishna Khaitan All-India Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament at Tau Devi Lal Stadium here today.

Chandigarh’s Mili Verma drubbed Khushi Boora of Haryana in the third round of the girls’ U-19 qualifiers on the second day of Smt Krishna Khaitan All-India Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament at Tau Devi Lal Stadium here today. Mili won 15-5 15-2. 

Punjab’s Prerna Dawar registered a 15-8 15-10 win over Riju Patidar, while Chandigarh’s Tanisha Giri succumbed 7-15 11-15 to Telangana’s Bhargavi K. Pranavi N of Tamil Nadu downed Haryana’s Ananya Muni 15-11 15-6 in her third round qualifying match.

Delhi’s Khushi Thakkar rallied from a game down to beat Uttar Pradesh’s Samayara Panwar 14-16 15-5 15-8. Durva Gupta, also from Delhi, registered a 15-7 15-7 win over Anushka Yadav of Uttar Pradesh.  

In the boys’ U-19 singles, Maharashtra’s Rohan Thool prevailed 15-13 15-11 against Haryana’s Gaurav Sharma in the third round of the qualifiers.   

Punjab’s Rajiv Goyat humbled Haryana’s Ansh Tirdia 15-13 15-5, while Parth Soni, also from Punjab, came from behind to beat Anshul Budhwar of Haryana 14-16 15-13 15-11. Chandigarh’s Ytharth Madaan was no match to Mohit Gowda Palaksha of Karnataka. Madaan fell 6-15 10-15. 

Surya Kiran Reddy Dundi edged out Jammu and Kashmir’s Puranjay Sharma 15-8 19-17. Kavin Thangam of Tamil Nadu dispatched Uttar Pradesh’s Nikhil Kumar 15-13 15-12, while Haryana’s Tarun Gakhad drubbed Akshat Negi of Uttarakhand 15-6 15-9. Telangana’s Uneeth Krishna BV humbled Delhi’s Shiv Bhardwaj 15-11 15-9. 

Ytharth, meanwhile, combined with Hasil Tewari to beat Puranjay and Sarabpreet Singh Sodhi of J&K 13-15 15-8 15-10 in the second round of the qualifiers. 

Tamil Nadu pair of Manoj DN and Sabreeshwaran H registered a 19-17 15-11 win over Haryana’s Harshit Nagpal and Rupesh Pandey, while Punjab’s S Bhardwaj and S Nautiyal trounced Lucky Badaliya and Bharat Raghav of Haryana 15-8 15-13.   

Saneeth DS and Pruthvi Roy K had an easy outing against Uttar Pradesh pair of Sidharth Raj and Anurag Singh. The Karnataka duo won 15-6 15-8.   

In the girls’ U-19 doubles, Chandigarh’s Tanisha Giri and Tisha Giri moved into the third round of the qualifiers after receiving a walkover against Tamil Nadu pair of Gnanadha Karthikeyan and Sania Sikkandar.

Haryana’s Apoorva and Diya packed off Hrishita Patrra and Soumya Raghvan 15-12 18-16, while Yazvi Balooni of Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh’s Himanshi Dhingra lost 8-15 4-15 to Uttarakhand-Delhi pair of Sneha Rajwar and Khushi Thakkar.
