Chandigarh, July 11

Several services remained affected after a technical glitch in the main server of the PGIMER this afternoon. However, after the technical staff failed to repair the fault, employees were asked to work manually.

Work in the trauma centre, advanced eye centre, advanced paediatric centre and cardiology centre remained affected for hours.

Long queues were witnessed outside several counters as patients could not deposit fee for tests. Also, patients, who were to be discharged, faced problems.

Patients got some relief when the employees at the counters proceeded manually.

Rajinder Kumar, a resident of Yamunanagar, whose uncle was admitted to the Intensive care unit of the renal transplant department, said he had to wait in a queue for more than two hours to give the sample for test due to the failure of the server.

Facing similar problem, Rajwant Kaur, a resident of Sirhind, said her nephew was admitted to the orthopaedic ward and he was to be discharged in the afternoon, but could not happen till late evening as the staff cleared the bills manually.
