The Special Task Force (STF), Mohali, on Tuesday arrested two Nigerian nationals with 240 gm of heroin.

According to STF officials, the accused have been identified as Chukwuma (29) alias Jimmy, and Onyeka Kenneth (33), both natives of Lagos, Nigeria, who had come here from Delhi on Tuesday to supply heroin.

The police said following a tip-off, the accused were held from Mango Garden in Phase III Industrial area, here, allegedly with 240 gm of heroin. The STF sleuths said the accused could not produce visa or passport documents, supporting their stay in India.

The police said Chukwuma had come to India on a study visa in 2014 and was staying with an acquaintance in Saket, Delhi. An STF official said: “Jimmy could not pay the tuition fee for education, hence, he started peddling drugs.”

Onyeka arrived in India on a business visa in 2015. According to the police, Kenneth, who earlier worked as a garment supplier, was lured into supplying heroin by a Nigerian, Colas, whom he met at a salon in Delhi. Kenneth was staying at a rented accommodation at Uttam Nagar in Delhi.
