LUDHIANA: Ludhiana registered an emphatic victory by an innings and 173 runs over Moga in the match in the ongoing Inter-District (U-16) Cricket Tournament held at GRD Academy on Hambran Road here on Saturday.

Ludhiana registered an emphatic victory by an innings and 173 runs over Moga in the match in the ongoing Inter-District (U-16) Cricket Tournament held at GRD Academy on Hambran Road here on Saturday.

With this authentic win, Ludhiana secured four points and Moga went blank.

In reply to Ludhiana’s first innings score of 280 for 6 declared, Moga resumed their first innings at overnight score of nine for 1. They were bowled out for 61 runs in 56.3 overs.

For Ludhiana, Ayush Maan Jayee scalped four victims, while Vansh Arora captured three wickets, whereas Sanyam Gill secured two wickets.

Facing a deficit of 219 runs, Moga batsmen wilted under pressure in their second essay and surrendered meekly without putting up resistance as their innings folded at 46 runs in 33.1 overs

Vansh Arora was the most successful bowler, chipping in with four wickets after conceding 12 runs in eight overs. Ranvir Singh claimed two wickets for seven runs in six overs.

Ludhiana (first innings): 280 for 6 declared after 89 overs (Ranvir Singh 104, Saksham Vij 61, Ankit Singh 41, Samaksh Gosain 32* and Sanyam Gill 23; Mukund Deep Singh 3 for 97, Navtej Singh 2 for 65 and Karanvir Singh Chahal 1 for 68).

Moga (first innings): 61 all out in 56.3 overs (Tejinderpal Singh 18 and Gurbaljeet Singh 12; Ayushmaan Jayee 4 for 11, Vansh Arora 3 for 18, Sanyam Gill 2 for 9 and Siddhant Tiwari 1 for 11).

Moga (second innings): 46 all out in 33.1 overs (Navjeet Singh 16; Vansh Arora 4 for 12, Ranvir Singh 2 for 7, Sanyam Gill 1 for 4, Ayushmaan Jayee 1 for 7 and Siddhant Tiwari 1 for 10).
