Two more test +ve for Covid in Ludhiana

Ludhiana, October 28

Two persons tested positive for Covid and no death was reported due to the virus in the district today. The recovery rate of Covid-19 patients has reached 97.56 per cent and at present, there are 30 active patients in the district. Twenty eight persons were sent for home isolation today.

A total of six patients are undergoing treatment for Covid at various city hospitals and of these, two patients belong to Ludhiana district and four are from other districts.

Four patients (two new patients from Ludhiana district and two from other districts or states) have tested positive in the past 24 hours.

Till date, a total of 27,00,088 samples have been taken, of which 26,00,781 were found negative. Now, the total number of patients related to Ludhiana is 87,604 while 11,703 belong to other districts or states.

The total number of persons who lost their lives include 2,106 persons from Ludhiana and 1,053 from other districts.

As many as 8,026 samples of suspected patients were sent for testing today and their results are expected shortly.

DC Varinder Kumar Sharma appealed to residents to adhere to all safety protocols such as wearing masks, maintaining social distancing and washing hands frequently to not only save themselves but also keep everyone around them safe. — TNS
