Army Chief reviews security scenario

For the first time after the Centre abrogated Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, Army Chief General Bipin Rawat reached Kashmir on a two-day visit to review the prevailing security situation.

The Army Chief reviewed the security situation and preparedness of security forces in Kashmir valley in the wake of increasing ceasefire violations by Pakistan. The Army Chief accompanied by Chinar Corps Commander Lt Gen KJS Dhillon visited the formations and units deployed along LoC. He was briefed by local commanders on the existing ceasefire violations. — OC
